Synopsis... Winds and seas will increase to cautionary conditions this morning and further increase to Small Craft Advisory levels tonight through Wednesday as a strong cold front approaches and pushes across the local waters. Showers and thunderstorms will develop in advance of the front tonight through early Wednesday. Some storms may be severe...especially over the Panhandle waters. In the wake of the front...sustained winds will peak over 25 knots and gale force gusts will be possible. Offshore winds will quickly diminish by Wednesday night and remain below headline criteria at least through the remainder of the week.

Small craft operators should exercise caution

Today... South winds 10 to 15 knots...increasing to 15 to 20 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet...building to 4 to 6 feet in the afternoon. Protected waters a light to moderate chop...becoming choppy. Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Tonight... Southwest winds 20 to 25 knots...increasing to 25 to 30 knots after midnight. Seas 7 to 9 feet. Protected waters rough...increasing to very rough. Numerous showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may be severe.
Wednesday... West winds 25 to 30 knots with gusts to gale force possible. Seas 8 to 10 feet near shore...10 to 12 feet offshore. Protected waters very rough. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.
Wednesday Night... Northwest winds 15 to 20 knots...decreasing to 10 knots after midnight. Seas 7 to 9 feet near shore and 9 to 11 feet offshore...subsiding to 4 to 6 feet near shore...6 to 8 feet offshore after midnight. Protected waters choppy... decreasing to a light chop after midnight.
Thursday... West winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 4 to 6 feet...subsiding to 2 to 4 feet in the afternoon. Protected waters a light to moderate chop.
Thursday Night... West winds 10 to 15 knots...becoming northeast 5 to 10 knots after midnight. Seas 2 to 4 feet. Protected waters a light to moderate chop...decreasing to smooth.
Friday... East winds 5 to 10 knots...becoming southeast. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Protected waters smooth.
Friday Night... South winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Protected waters smooth.
Saturday... Southwest winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Protected waters smooth.
