Synopsis... A strong cold front will move through the coastal waters tonight and Wednesday morning...bringing gusty winds...showers... and thunderstorms along with it. A few of these storms may be severe. Winds and seas will continue to increase behind the front on Wednesday as a strong low pressure system develops over the Great Lakes and a high pressure ridge builds over the western Gulf of Mexico. Winds and seas will subside quickly Wednesday night as a high pressure system builds across the northeast Gulf.

Tonight... South winds around 15 knots...increasing to 20 to 25 knots with higher gusts after midnight. Seas 3 to 5 feet...building to 6 to 8 feet after midnight. Protected waters choppy to rough. Showers and thunderstorms likely. Some storms may be severe with winds above 35 knots.
Wednesday... West winds around 25 knots with gusts around 35 knots. Seas 9 to 11 feet. Protected waters very rough. Showers and thunderstorms ending from west to east during the morning.
Wednesday Night... Northwest winds near 20 knots...becoming west around 10 knots after midnight. Seas 7 to 10 feet...subsiding to 4 to 6 feet after midnight. Protected waters choppy...decreasing to smooth after midnight.
Thursday... West winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Protected waters a light to moderate chop.
Thursday Night... Northwest winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet. Protected waters smooth.
