Synopsis... Southerly winds will increase through the day as a cold front approaches. The cold front will cross the marine area overnight with strong south winds in advance of the front becoming strong westerly after frontal passage. Seas building to between 8 and 12 feet overnight and continuing through Wednesday. Thunderstorms in advance of the front mostly this afternoon and tonight...with squalls up to or above gale force at times. High pressure builds over the north central Gulf through the end of the week. Northerly winds and seas will build late Saturday as another cold front moves south over the marine area.

Small Craft Advisory in effect through Wednesday evening

Rest Of Today... South winds increasing to around 20 knots and gusty. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Bays and coastal waterways becoming choppy to rough. Scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Tonight... South winds 20 to 25 knots becoming southwest 25 to 30 knots in the late evening then west early in the morning. Seas 6 to 9 feet. Bays and coastal waterways rough. Showers and thunderstorms.
Wednesday... West winds 25 to 30 knots. Seas 7 to 10 feet. Bays and coastal waterways rough. Slight chance of showers.
Wednesday Night... Northwest winds 15 to 20 knots decreasing to 10 to 15 knots after midnight...then becoming west early in the morning. Seas 5 to 7 feet subsiding to 3 to 5 feet after midnight. Bays and coastal waterways choppy to rough.
Thursday... West winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet. Bays and coastal waterways a light chop.
Thursday Night... West winds 10 to 15 knots becoming northwest late in the evening...then becoming north around 10 knots after midnight. Seas 2 to 4 feet. Bays and coastal waterways a light chop.
Friday... East winds 5 to 10 knots becoming southeast around 10 knots in the afternoon...then becoming south 10 to 15 knots. Seas 1 to 2 feet building to 1 to 3 feet. Bays and coastal waterways a light chop.
Saturday... South winds around 10 knots becoming southwest in the afternoon...then becoming west in the evening becoming north 15 to 20 knots after midnight. Seas 2 to 4 feet. Bays and coastal waterways choppy to rough. Chance of showers.
